1992 - I donned the cap and gown, snagging a BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Post-graduation, I hightailed it to Texas, where my camera and I became the Bonnie and Clyde of event photography, immortalizing everything from magazine glossies to the brooding covers of music albums. To keep the lights on, I moonlighted as a muralist and eventually birthed "The Scribble Zone," my own graphic design enterprise.
Move II - My tech saga began in Virginia with Capital One, where I morphed into a Web Designer/Developer extraordinaire, spearheading the launch of an intranet that would make the IT deities shed tears of joy. After the HR conversion, I wrangled "RoboHelp" files into sleek JavaScript, images, and HTML – a digital facelift that saved the day.
Move III - California called me back, and I answered, landing a gig with Intel. There, I leveled up my web development skills, dabbling in the arcane arts of internet (external sites) technologies. My flair for web animation didn't go unnoticed; the State of California gave me a buzz to get Flash(y), and just like that, I was schmoozing with the Governor, strategizing the CA.GOV portal site(s) like a boss.
Move V - The past decade's been a whirlwind tour with the crème de la crème of companies – Chevron, Applied BioSystems, Microsoft, Wells Fargo, etc. – where I've become the Yoda of Web Accessibility and Usability on the SharePoint platform(CSS).
Thanks to these swanky job titles, my wallet's been cushy enough to fuel my secret obsession as an "ART SUPPLY HOARDER." Every few years, I'd get the itch to learn something new – watercolor, oil painting, you name it. I amassed art supplies like they were going out of style, until my closet became an art store in disguise.
I LOVE IT ALL!!!
I'm the jack-of-all-trades, master of fun! Is it ADHD or just a zest for the new? Who knows! I'm still surfing the waves of discovery, unsure if I'll ever dock at a single island of interest. My supply stash is threatening to become a permanent installation, and my spouse is hinting at a downsizing ultimatum—make art or make space! So here I am, on a creative sprint, fueled by your cheers. And guess what? My creations are now international celebrities, gracing walls far and wide. WOW! Turns out, my knack for snapping a good pic and understanding balance and space was the perfect primer for my painting escapades!
